“As members of the California Legislature, we have a responsibility to protect the state’s fiscal health and stability… That is why we oppose Prop 40.”

“You can bet if I’m investing in a multi-billion dollar startup, I’m asking them to move from California first.”

“If California adopts a wealth tax, the only undisputed winners will be the lawyers”

“By signaling that wealth taxes are part of the state’s revenue toolkit, [Prop 40] would force the next round of entrepreneurs to think long and hard about starting businesses in the Golden State.”

Groups representing home and family child care providers, laborers, school administrators, operating engineers and police chiefs announced their opposition.

“A wealth tax would threaten the success of the nonprofit sector in California, potentially spilling over into other parts of the state’s economy.”
